About Me

Hi! I'm Brendan Eng. I am a first year graduate student studying Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I love distance running and train somewhat seriously for half marathons and marathons. The purpose of this blog is to document the life balance of an engineering graduate student trying to eventually qualify for the Boston Marathon. As much as this blog is dedicated to keeping me accountable for my training, I want to demonstrate to others the power of running and the beauty of marathon training. Additionally, I've heard the phrase "Obtaining a PhD is like running a marathon" more than a dozen times, so this blog is really dedicated to dissecting the truth of that statement.
